The rarest Ornithoptera species:
Ornithoptera allotei!

We now have a supplier from the Solomon Islands that breeds these beautiful hybrids on his butterfly farm. Ornithoptera allotei is a very rare natural hybrid of Ornithoptera victoria and Ornithoptera priamus urvillianus. On the farm the two parent specimens are manually combined to produce offspring. Because they are farm bred they are of excellent quality.
We are aware of the fact that there are specimen on the market that are sold without valid C.I.T.E.S. permits, but we feel it is our ethical responsibility to sell only specimen that come with permits and are bred on certified farms.

Antennae Inc. proudly donates a Queen Alexandra Birdwing butterfly collection (Ornithoptera alexandrae) to The Antennae Foundation. O. alexandrae is the world's largest and one of the rarest butterflies. It is listed as an Appendix I endangered species. The collection predates when the species was listed as endangered, that was the requirement to acquire and own it legally. This one of a kind collection better suites the vision and mission statement The Antennae Foundation has, which is why we donated it. It will be used to promote the conservation and preservation around the world.
